been creating joint therapeutic drama and advocacy projects for syrian refugees since 2013. although their initial work focused on jordan, today stw have expanded their work to benefit refugee communities in the uk and germany. at its core, charlotte eagar, the project’s founder, says twp’s work is “about helping refugees work through depression, trauma and loneliness, and also giving them a voice. you have to give them the chance to have an identity: when you lose your home lose so much, not just a place to live, but family, friends, your peace of mind and your dignity. we help them create a new family for themselves and give them a place to stand.” we are currently running therapeutic drama and music projects for syrians in the uk and jordan. ​ our latest jordan project: ​if music be the food of love 2017 if music be the food of love is a collaboration between the world food programme (wfp) and the trojan women project's jordan team combining music and drama workshops for syrian refugee and jordanian underprivileged children aged between 4 and 17 years old. 10th march 2017: the project started in queen zain centre with five drama workshops sessions at the weekend to avoid disrupting school time. end of july: the first recording was complete and it was decided to add adults’ voices (male and female). later wfp managed to convince a local band “autostrad” to learn the song to sing along with children. 23rd & 24th september: planned to jointly perform the first rehearsal to be ready for wfp gala dinner on the 14th october 2017. end of october: the children will record their song with autostrad. kaleidoscope radio drama project 2017-18 kaleidoscope is a radio drama project inspired by our 2014 we are all refugees radio drama series. this year and next we are setting up creative writing groups of syrian refugees (plus a few members of the host communities) in scotland, germany, greece and jordan which will each produce radio plays exploring issues surrounding their experiences as refugees in these separate countries. we have successfully completed phase 1 (teaching dramatic writing for the radio) of the project in aberdeen and heidelberg and are about to carry it out in glasgow. we have completed phase 2 (rehearsal and recording of some of the participants from phase 1) in aberdeen. the aim is for syrian refugees to write and perform in radio plays for broadcast in arabic and the host community language. ultimately the aim is to bring together all the stories from each participating country into one overarching radio drama series. we are collaborating with syrian refugees to create a platform for them to inform the world of their issues through an entertaining and gripping radio series. queens of syria uk tour 2016 find out more about queens of syria tour  queens of syria uk theatre tour july 2016 queens of syria uk theatre tour is the latest from the syria trojan women project. first staged in amman in 2013 as syria: the trojan women, and the subject of an award winning documentary, developing artists presents refuge productions' queens of syria , an adaptation of euripides anti-war tragedy, the trojan women. ​ performed by an all-female cast of syrian refugees, the production skilfully amalgamates the women's own narratives of bitter exile and ferocious war into the ancient greek text. footage from the documentary is fused with the stage play for the first time to create a powerful, extraordinary and unique piece of theatre. these are not the voices of political commentators or journalists, but of ordinary women whose lives have been turned upside down by the turmoil of the syrian conflict. the stories of these women need to be heard. queens of syria comes to the uk for a three week run in july 2016, opening at the young vic on 5th july. the cast will tour brighton, oxford, liverpool, leeds, edinburgh and durham before finishing up in the west end. this will be a life-changing opportunity
